"The Magic Flute Fairy Tale" awarded with another prize

The XVI National Children's Book Festival was held in Sliven (7–9 May 2014). Artist Penko Gelev was given the award "Konstantin Konstantinov" for 2014 in the category "Illustrator".

"The Magic Flute Fairy Tale"  is a Bulgarian original multimedia project, inspired and dedicated to the Magic Flute opera by Mozart – the opera that attracts the most numerous audiences to this day. The team of Cultural Perspectives Foundation and Enthusiast Publishing House dedicated their efforts and time in the past two years to bring The Tale of the Magic Flute project to life. The project marked the beginning of a collaboration to achieve some common goals: to change the cultural landscape in Bulgaria, to have children meet the world of music and books in a way adequate and suitable for the modern times, as well as creating taste and interest to reading and listening to the inheritance of the world’s best literary and music works.

The Tale of the Magic Flute is a high-quality edition of the story of Tamino, Papageno, the Queen of Night adapted by Julia Spiridonova and wonderfully illustrated by Panko Gelev.

The Tale of the Magic Flute was not yet published, when Penko Gelev won the award of the esteemed international jury at the annual COW INTERNATIONAL DESIGN FESTIVAL 2013 for his illustrations to the book.
