The writer Jean-Luc Bannalec writes under a pen name. He was born in 1967 in Brest. His father is from Brittany, and his mother from the Rhine district. He works in Germany and Finistere, France and lives in both countries with his family. "Death in Pont-Aven" is his first novel. "Brittany's gold" and "Bretonische Brandung" come next. The series, dedicated to the Commissaire Georges Dupin, has been known worldwide and has reached the first place on the best sellers rankings. A movie has been made based on the book.
