Ivan Krumov was born on January 24, 1933 in the village of Razgrad, Montana Province. He graduated form the all-boys high school in Lom and later enrolled in “Vasil Levsky” Military Academy. He got a degree in Bulgarian literature from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky”. Krumov worked for the “Narodna Mladej” newspaper and for the Bulgarian National Radio where he was one of the founders and the first editor-in-chief of the youth radio station “Horizont”. Krumov lead the team of journalist that covered the launch in space of the first Bulgarian astronaut. For ten years he served as Director of Programming for the Bulgarian National Radio. At this position his carrier ended on the eve of the political changes in 1989. Ivan Krumov wrote the screenplay for the four-part television series “The Karastoianov family” and is author of the books “Amazed by death”, “The red lily”, and “Open skies”. The majority of his stories are set in the Danube River Plain and the Zaltia region.
