Yulia Spiridonova-Yulka was born on October 30th 1972 in Sofia in the family of artists. She graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridsky” and later from New Bulgarian University. Currently she is a freelance screenwriter and author.

She wrote the books “The little guguls”, “Tales of the little guguls”, “Adventures with Jigo”, „Dear popatecho”, “Tina and a half”, etc. Yulia Spiridonova has written more than 400 screenplays for children’s TV series, shows and films. She created the weekly children’s show “Hello”, aired on Bulgarian National Television between 1999 and 2006; the puppet shows “Guguliada” (BNT) and “Tales about the zodiac signs” (BNT). She also co-wrote the screenplays for the films “The Golden Apple” and “Break and Egg” (Creative Center). Her short stories have been published in the magazines Flame, Dialog, Fate and Graffiti.
